The Israeli occupation authority (IOA) on Saturday forced two Jerusalemite brothers to demolish the second floor of their house in Ein a-Luza neighborhood in Silwan district, east Jerusalem, at the pretext of unlicensed construction.
About one and a half months ago, a demolition crew from the Israeli municipality had destroyed walls in the house causing damage to the second floor.
The brothers, Mohamed and Mahmoud al-Khales, made efforts to stop the demolition measure against their house, but an Israeli court rejected their request and okayed the demolition of two apartments in the second floor of the house.
Today, they had to demolish their apartments with their own hands in order to save the first floor and to avoid paying fines and demolition expenses to the Israeli municipality.
