Vers la paix à petits pas

 The 250th Anniversary of...what, Exactly ?

No Paine, no Declaration

By George F. Smith

July 11, 2026

On July 4, 2026 Americans celebrated various people for their role in founding this country. We can start with Washington, Jefferson, Adams, Madison, Franklin, Henry, and continue debating into the night. Somewhere on the list would be Paine - Robert Treat Paine, a Harvard graduate and signer of the Declaration. And grudgingly for some, another Paine but without a middle name - Thomas Paine - who lacked any of the usual credentials to be considered a founder.

President Trump and Nato Have Declared War on Russia and Putin Is Oblivious

By Paul Craig Roberts

July 11, 2026

John Helmer believes that Putin's strategy of being toady to Trump and relying on Trump to solve the Ukraine conflict for him has failed and that Putin will have to abandon his naïveté for realism or be removed.

Putin's inability to understand that Russia is at war with the West and that his prevarication for 4.5 years has vastly widened the war and totally changed its character has created the opinion among Russia's patriotic elements that "Putin is a lost cause."

Trump and Nato Kiss and Make Up as Europeans Pledge To Buy More U.s. Weapons

By Paul Dragu
The New American

July 11, 2026

For nearly the entire duration of his second term, U.S. President Donald Trump has incessantly griped about NATO and its leaders. But he emerged from this week's summit in Ankara, Turkey, with renewed dedication to the entangling alliance. It seems the Europeans may have softened him up by promising to buy more American-made weapons.

Trump arrived in Ankara on Tuesday.

Dear American: No One in Government Represents You

By Paul Craig Roberts
PaulCraigRoberts.org

July 10, 2026

Marjorie Taylor Greene, Thomas Massie, Tucker Carlson, Candice Owens, and a few others who have access to media exposure, including myself, agree that Washington does not represent the American people. Neither do the state or local governments. Conservatives used to claim that the closer government is to you, the better it represented you, but that is not my experience.

Trump Finally Decides Satisfying Israel Is Less Important Than Conquering Russia.

International relations are the most complex topic in human relations. The international arms traffic is near the pinnacle of it. Turkey and Israel are at least nominal enemies of each other; and, so, Israel cannot tolerate that Israel's main source of weapons and of foreign support, the U.S., might become even more committed to Turkey than it is to Israel - that could endanger the continued existence of Israel.

Trump Declares Mou With Iran Is Dead

By Larry C. Johnson

StraitOfHormuzChartCloseUp

The drama over the Strait of Hormuz escalated on Wednesday with Donald Trump declaring the MoU with Iran is dead and vowed more attacks on Iran. Trump continues to insist that Iran has no right to interfere with any ship trying to transit the Strait of Hormuz, but the fact is that Iran is acting within its rights under the terms spelled out in paragraph five of the MoU (which I discussed in my previous post).

How do federal government employees get away with not paying their taxes ?

By Bruce BIALOSKY

We have known for some time that our federal employees have cushy lives compared to the people for whom they work (us). What is particularly infuriating is that so many of them either don't pay their taxes or are seriously delinquent on what they owe their employer-the federal government.

Recently, the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration found in a new report showing that 6.9% of federal employees are delinquent on their IRS taxes.

 The 250th Anniversary of...what, Exactly ?

Why Rothbard Sided With the American Revolutionaries

By Ryan McMaken
Mises.org

July 9, 2026

Contrary to some modern, sanitized versions of the history of the American Revolution, the real Revolutionary War in the United States was a thoroughly violent affair. Proportionally, the war displaced a larger number of people than even the French Revolution, and more Americans died in that war than in any other American war. (The overall numbers are small because the population of North America was very small at the time.)

Ron Paul Was Right All Along: Why His Principles Matter Now More Than Ever

Ron Paul: The Timeless Voice of Reason

I recently sat down with Chris Rossini from the Ron Paul Institute, and the conversation reinforced something I have known for decades: Dr. Ron Paul's anti-war, pro-liberty principles are more relevant today than at any point in my lifetime. In a political climate where both parties embrace endless empire and runaway debt, Paul's consistent message stands as the only sane path forward.
