Last Friday, U.S. President Donald Trump announced a deal about the export of Russian diesel. Payments for Russian oil products had previously been under U.S. sanctions. Soon after Trump's announcement the Treasury lifted those restrictions. Russian diesel to the U.S. and to global markets would lead to a decrease in prices at U.S. pumps.
Trump also announced an 'energy ceasefire' in Ukraine.

I have always had an ambivalent relationship with "conservatives," because I could never divine their principles. They want to "conserve"... what, exactly ? Their congressional majority ? Why ? What for ? How does that benefit me ? Conservatives are cautious about change - the disease of tired/mentally ossified old people. Many of them mean well but are ready meat for the Left, which does have a principle - which is to win and hold onto power by any means necessary.

This is a fact-based history lesson. The lesson is about black slaveowners. Larry Koger's book, Black Slaveowners, is well documented. Koger provides 34 pages of documentation listing the names of black slave owners and the number of slaves they owned in South Carolina and 38 pages of historical notes. Most free blacks only owned a few slaves, but some blacks themselves had plantations and had as many as 30 or 40 slaves.

Heritage Republicans believe that a nation is constituted by a specific and identifiable people who are historically rooted in a place over time, while Creedal Republicans believe in a concept they call "the idea of Texas." Their idea of Texas involves hard work, love of football, and the savoir-faire to say, "Hook 'em Horns."
