The senator represented my state in Congress for three decades. This is what I saw.

Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) died unexpectedly on Saturday at the age of 71.

I was born and raised in South Carolina and was his constituent for most of his three decades in Congress.

Graham became a member of the U.S. House in 1995. In 1996, my own political journey began in my early 20s as a Pat Buchanan conservative who avidly supported his insurgent populist bid for the Republican presidential nomination that year.

The weekend news that Senator Lindsey Graham is dead at 71 is a shock; even more curious is the tedious whitewashing of his death by the warmongering state he served.

It was only a few weeks ago that Lindsey was observed at Disney World holding a child's toy, surrounded by his loving family. He looked about as healthy as a rabid neoconservative and outed genocide advocate could be in a public place, but nevertheless, his death "after a brief illness" was surprising.

In September of 2025 when President Trump was attacking Thomas Massie I wrote Donald Trump Is a Putz!. "The one thing that Trump could actually accomplish to make the US and the world at large a better place is to root out the neoconservative war mongers from the Republican party and national discourse." I noted in this article that Trump does the opposite, and he had been a traitor to his supporters' America First agenda by supporting the neocons.

The conflict remains unresolved and susceptible to various escalations.

During the recent NATO summit in Ankara, US President Donald Trump announced that the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding was "over" and stated that US armed forces would resume attacks on Iran to "punish" the country for alleged attacks on Western ships in the Strait of Hormuz.

I explained that the tit-for-tat game that Iran and Washington are playing works perfectly for Israel. Israel is the source of the violence. Washington is merely acting for Israel. It is not Washington that gains from war with Iran. The war is in behalf of Israel's agenda of Greater Israel.

Regrettably, in the case of the recently departed Senator Lindsey Graham finding laudatory words is a nearly impossible task. Galloway also ventured some very cogent speculations about the circumstances and causes of Graham's truly unexpected and otherwise not easily explicable death.

Despite regularly denouncing the rising socialist menace, President Trump has been pursuing a policy arguably just as, if not more, dangerous to liberty and prosperity as anything proposed by Zohran Mamdani or Bernie Sanders: using government funds to purchase partial ownership of private companies.

The Trump administration has obtained ownership interests of approximately 27 billion dollars in 30 companies since January of 2025.

True "peace candidates" in American politics are almost all gone, replaced by warmongers with megaphones and dangerously inflated delusions of grandeur. The question arises - is Trump one of them ?

In my younger days conservatives and libertarians contrasted government unfavorably with private business. Government consisted of black hat guys and business of white hat guys. If government won, tyranny would be the result. If business won, liberty would stay alive.

Conservatives and libertarians saw power as something that government wanted, but not business.
