Who'll Dress for Success ?

By Tim Hartnett

October 2, 2026

"The clothes make the man," was taught as a theme of Elizabethan literature in my high school English class. I learned that the sentiment isn't necessarily out of date in a watering hole 20 years ago. I was debating a guy in a coat and tie about US foreign policy while adorned myself in Levis and a golf shirt. Despite citing dates and sources - that my adversary was lacking - a non-participant observer chimed in "I believe him because he's the one in a suit." Both sides of the argument chuckled at the deduction.

Effective Altruism: Who Really Benefits From « Doing Good » ?

By Doug Casey
International Man

October 2, 2026

International Man: Doug, "effective altruism" sounds like a noble idea. Who are the effective altruists, and what makes them think they can calculate the best way to help humanity?

Doug Casey: It might help to start with a definition of "effective altruism." Let's refer to it as EA. It's hard to find a clear and certain definition, but EA purports to figure out how to do as much good as possible, then act on that knowledge, which sounds good.

Will the Traditional South Survive ?

By Boyd Cathey

October 2, 2026

Let me recount some personal history: growing up in mostly-rural North Carolina, most of my friends and especially their parents could go on a bit about their family backgrounds, about their familial histories. Most of my friends-like me-had great-grandfathers or great-great-grandfathers who had served in Confederate ranks back during the War Between the States, 1861-1865.

America's National Security Scam Rolls On

Who is doing what to whom ?

By Philip Giraldi
The Unz Review

October 2, 2026

Once upon a time the United States of America was confident that it, shielded by broad oceans to the East and West and having friendly countries that it dominated economically and militarily to the North and South, was safe from any threat by any foreign nation or even any combination of nations. Washington was confident that it could defeat any adversary in conventional warfare and, if push came to shove, its nuclear weapon capability gave it a unique and decisive edge that no enemy would dare to challenge given the examples of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

Lawmakers Call for Destruction of Atf's Illegal Gun Registry

By Paul Dragu
The New American

October 2, 2026

A national gun registry is illegal in the United States, yet the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) has one, according to lawmakers who are calling for the destruction of more than a billion gun-related records.

Representative Michael Cloud (R-Texas) sent President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance a letter on Tuesday telling them the ATF has firearms records it has no business having.

In the Usa the Criminal Justice System (sic) Commits More Crimes Than Criminals

By Paul Craig Roberts

October 2, 2026

Reports I have read have me inclined to believe that there have been far more wrongful arrests from AI facial recognition and flock cameras than correct arrests.

In a recent wrongful arrest US Marshalls from the Fugitive Task Force showed up in plainclothes outside a Tennessee grandmother's home demanding that she come out with hands up.

By Martin Armstrong
Armstrong Economics

October 2, 2026

The Government Accountability Office estimates that the federal government loses between $233 BILLION and $521 BILLION every year to fraud. We are not talking about total government waste, unnecessary programs, bloated agencies, or interest on the national debt. This estimate is specifically FRAUD affecting federal programs and spending. At the upper end, that works out to more than $1.4 billion every single day.

American Soul-Searching After the Iraq Withdrawal

By Jacob G. Hornberger
The Future of Freedom Foundation

October 2, 2026

In March 2003, the U.S. Empire invaded and occupied Iraq under the rubric of "Operation Iraqi Freedom." Today, twenty-three years later, the last U.S. troops have been withdrawn from Iraq. I think almost every American would agree with one thing about that particular foreign war: It did not bring freedom to the Iraqi people, at least not freedom the way that libertarians define the term.

Trump Plays God Again

By Chuck Baldwin
Chuck Baldwin Live

October 2, 2026

Power always thinksthat it is doing God's service when it is violating all his laws.

John Adams

When President Donald Trump stood before the U.N. General Assembly last week and told world leaders that he was contemplating annihilating Iran, he demonstrated his usual (sub)natural propensity to pretend that he and he alone holds the power to save life or destroy it.
