The war on Iran continues to escalate. Last night the U.S. again bombed various cities in Iran hitting military as well as civilian targets. Iran responded by hitting U.S. installation in various Gulf countries.

Remarkable was an attack on the Prince Sultan Air Base in Saudi Arabia:

Iranian ballistic missiles struck Prince Sultan Air Base in Al-Kharj on July 18, wounding twelve US service members - two critically - and hitting KC-135 Stratotankers on the flight line while a second rotation was still climbing out.

July 21 of 2026 is the ninth anniversary of the release of one of the finer films about World War II. On that day the Christopher Nolan-directed epic, "Dunkirk," was released in theaters in the US and UK, to rave reviews by audiences and critics alike.

That anniversary re-entered my thoughts a few days ago. As a former Archivist for the state of North Carolina, my habit is to save almost everything that comes my way: bills, letters, receipts, notes, interesting articles.

Mouthing the usual collection of Trump lies about the evil of Iran, Trump says the New York Mayor will not be allowed to arrest the indicted War Criminal Netanyahu when he lands in New York to give Trump Israel's latest orders. The American president shows pride in being Israel's puppet.

As both Trump and Biden enabled and financed the Palestinian Genocide, shouldn't both also be arrested ? Why only the Israeli War Criminal ? Why not also the two American presidents who made it possible ? Israel has no more Palestinian blood on its hands than do Biden and Trump.

She would not be surprised, if she were around today, to learn that a dubious student-led protest was sufficient for authorities to remove her name from one of the residence halls at Loyola University Maryland in Baltimore. More than 80 scholars and authors signed a letter protesting the change.

Tehran delivered to Washington via Pakistan in early April, a formalized demand for the withdrawal of US combat forces from military bases across the region. It sat in a package alongside the lifting of all sanctions and UN resolutions, the release of Iranian assets held overseas, reparations, and Iran's right to nuclear enrichment.

Instead of waiting for the US to agree to the demand, Iran has launched targeted attacks during the past two weeks on key US bases in Kuwait, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates.
