Quds News Network, 15 juin 2026.

Congress's Failure is Liberty's Gain

Congress accidentally protected the American people's liberty this week when it failed to extend Section 702 of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA).
Section 702 authorizes warrantless surveillance of foreign citizens. However, it has been "interpreted" by the FISA court to allow US intelligence agencies to wiretap conversations between a US citizen and a foreign target of Section 702 surveillance.

The Latest Political Victim of the Israel Lobby
Last month a seven-term Republican Congressman from Kentucky named Thomas Massie lost his primary, and he will be leaving office at the end of the current session of the House.
Except in the case of severe personal scandals, such primary defeats were once extremely rare in our political life, and no such scandal had ever attached itself to Massie's name.

In addition to the regular lethal American and Israeli attacks on Iran, last week alone the Israeli military killed 13 Gazans and 13 Lebanese. Gaza is now 70% Israeli occupied, contrary to what was agreed upon in the ceasefire arrangement, as is much of south Lebanon. More than 1,000 Gazans have been murdered by Israel since the temporary ceasefire was declared in October 2025.

Well, when news broke that Israel had bombed the southern suburb of Beirut on Sunday afternoon, the Iranians started gearing up for promised retaliation only to be dissuaded by a Donald Trump bribe. Iran and the US reportedly were closing in on an agreement based on Iran's 14-point plan when the Israeli strike in Lebanon threw everything into chaos. Iran quickly started ramping up for a renewed missile strike on Israel, but Donald Trump rump reportedly offered Iran financial incentives to not attack Israel.

Iran is poised to gradually return to the US-led Western order within certain limits exactly as Iran's moderate faction has long wanted, its hardline faction has successfully preserved the armed forces and their missile stockpile, while Israel achieved none of its goals in its most epic defeat ever.
Iran and the US plan to sign a Zarif-inspired memorandum of understanding (MoU) on ending the Third Gulf War this Friday in Switzerland.

Back in 2016, when Pokémon Go exploded across the world, I wrote that people should be asking a simple question: why would investors spend billions creating a game that encouraged hundreds of millions of people to walk around with GPS-enabled devices, cameras, and location tracking operating continuously ? At the time, most people laughed. They saw a harmless game.

Most of us view the world thru distorted filters. Everyone reading this has a digital colander that sifts facts to console preconceptions.
Images from across the country or around the world form or reinforce certitude about ambiguous (and mostly irrelevant) events.
What No Graduates Will Hear
Will we tell our young people what they need most to hear ? If not, nothing else we say or do will stop our suicidal collapse.

The time for graduations has mostly passed, and the graduates have been duly flattered and told that they are going to accomplish great things-or rather, since we have been in a narcissistic age for all of my life, that they are going to be great, if they are not great already.

For generations, Californians have lived with a warning that has become so familiar it barely registers anymore. The phrase "the Big One" has been repeated for decades by scientists, emergency officials, television reporters, and Hollywood filmmakers until it gradually transformed from a terrifying possibility into a distant inevitability that most people simply learned to live with.
