Where education takes the biggest bite
Strategic Infographics
What a nation spends on education reveals its future ambitions. While economic giants dominate headlines in raw dollars, it is often smaller, developing nations that invest the deepest - sacrificing the largest share of their GDP to build classrooms, train teachers, and equip the next generation.

It's a most confusing time to be in the U.s. military
By Bill ASTORE
Who knows why we fight?
It's a most confusing time to be in the U.S. military. Who knows why we fight?
At the top, there's a lack of principles, a lack of clarity, a lack of care.
There's no accountability for losses and bad decisions.
The government keeps the people isolated from war's true costs. There's no call for sacrifice. No war bonds, no draft, no increase in taxes.
Defending identity: Good enough for the Corsicans, but not for the French
By Hélène DE LAUNZUN
The government is preparing to protect Corsican traditions and identity. But what about French identity?
The French government is preparing to embark on a reform of Corsica's status and its place within the Republic. The small island has a strong identity and has long been calling for greater autonomy-and, for some, even independence. By taking this path, a twofold risk is emerging: one feared by the Left-that of an overemphasis on identity, history, and culture to the detriment of the sacred Republic-and the other by the Right-that of an erosion of state authority.
An encyclical against Davos
Bruna Frascolla
The Vatican's AI encyclical is a machine-gun blast at Klaus Schwab's Davos dream. It condemns robot doctors, universal basic income, and a society where only a few work - warning that tech without accountability means anthropological regression.
Behind the oblique formulations, the encyclical Magnifica Humanitas is a veritable machine gun of attacks. One example of a oblique formulation is the praise for the 1948 Universal Declaration of Human Rights, in the section entitled "The supreme value of human rights." This declaration is, according to the encyclical, "a milestone on the long and difficult path of the human race." However, immediately afterwards, we read that "Among these rights, the first is the right to life, from conception to its natural end, without which it is impossible to exercise any other right.
The Doctrine of Total Spectrum Resistance

How Iran demonstrated that conventional hegemony can be defeated by a nation that resists in all domains simultaneously
The Doctrine of Full Spectrum Dominance
It was not without arrogance and pride that the U.S. Department of Defense published, in May 2000, the document Joint Vision 2020, casting over the entire world a kind of enveloping veil that simultaneously constituted and celebrated the military power of the 21st century: it was the Full Spectrum Dominance.
