What you just saw was a putsch by the Inner Party against Joe Biden, the duly elected president of the United States and the nominee for re-election by the Democratic Party after winning the vast majority of primary voters. Here's the 2024 count:

Clearly, actual Democratic voters wanted Four More Years of Joe Biden. By 87%. What about the Dementia Factor? On that, there are two types of Democratic voters:
1. Democrats who clearly saw, as we all did, Biden suffered from dementia even in 2020, but voted for him anyway in 2024.2. Democrats themselves suffering from dementia, who wanted to keep one of their own in the White House.
Then, in a vast blow to Our Democracy, the Inner Party threw a putsch party and replaced Biden with Vice President Kamala Harris. 87% of Democratic voters were disenfranchised; 14,465,519. She wasn't even on the ballot this year. But when she went for the prize in 2020, she got zero primary votes because support was so low she pulled out before the voting began.
Who or what is the Inner Party? It's from Orwell's " 1984" and means those who really call the shots behind the scenes. Orwell actually based the political structure in his novel on "The Managerial Revolution," by political philosopher James Burnham. ( Free.pdf.) It's still relevant today because it described how the old power structure, kings and emperors and aristocracies, was replaced by managers in government, business and even churches. And that happened not only in the fascist and communist countries, but in the democracies. Here's a good summary.
Some also call the Inner Party the Establishment or the Deep State. But they come together against a common enemy. And one faction among them, the neocons, has an obsession with taking over the whole world. Which has caused problems because Russia and China have resisted. That sparked friction with other Inner Party factions, which just want to make money, especially from Chinese investments. The "Defense" companies want war to make money, but they don't want things getting out of hand. Which in a good sense means we could see peace in Ukraine soon.
And if you remember from the "1984" book or the two movies made from it, Big Brother, the putative dictator, barely is seen. He's a figurehead. A cypher.
The Inner Party is not just Democrats, although they're currently the dominant force. It's bipartisan. In the spring of 2023, the campaigns of Nikki Haley, Mike Pompeo and Mike Pence sent out elaborate, expensive mail packages with questionnaires to Republican donors. The questions largely focused on domestic issues, especially immigration and inflation, with only a couple on foreign policy. The Inner Party was trying to figure out which Republican could garner the most support to challenge Donald Trump the next year.
As it turned out, Pompeo, the smartest, dropped out to focus on 2028. Pence, the dumbest, was next because he hardly registered due to the Jan. 6 business. Haley finished behind Ron DeSantis as the Trump challenger in the primaries, but out of spite stuck around even after he ended is soporific campaign.
The Inner Party then ran the four ridiculous lawsuits against Trump. That now is allowing them to run the Prosecutor vs. Felon campaign theme. Harris was San Francisco DA and California AG. Ironically, the left hated her at the time because she excessively jailed people to burnish her tough-on-crime bona fides. For example, she obsessively prosecuted marijuana-related crimes. After a California initiative legalized it in 2016, she waited until 2018 to come out for legalization.
She's obviously a dim-witted opportunist who will do what's she's told by the putschist regime behind the scenes that put her in power.
Trump was allowed to run in 2016 by the Inner Party because he was a joke. He was a "carnival barker," as Michael Bloomberg, a top Inner Party member worth $105 billion, repeatedly branded him in 2020. There was no way he could defeat Dear Hillary. So no precautions were taken to ensure he lost. The voters had a different idea. In office, the Inner Party threw everything they had against him: the Russiagate Hoax, later debunked by the Mueller Report and the Durham Report. Two risible impeachments. Lie after lie after lie.

In the video, notice the emotionless Inner Party members in the front rows as the Outer Party members scream.
This shows how the Inner Party isn't as swift as it used to be. If they had let Trump go about cleaning up a few problem areas - stupid foreign wars, immigration and taxes - he would have spent eight years mollifying the MAGA people. Then things would have returned to what resembled normalcy, meaning the inexorable decline of the American Empire. Instead, they picked at the Trump Wound and made everything worse. Beginning with Biden bumbling us toward thermonuclear Armageddon with Russia.
Only at the end of his term did Trump figure out how bad things were, and how powerful the Inner Party was. He could have retired to Mar-a-Lago. Instead, due to pride, arrogance, insolence and of his love for America, he charged back into the arena. For his troubles, he was shot and almost killed. And as Ron Paul said, we'll never know the real story of what happened on July 13. The whole affair already is being shoved down the Memory Hole. The Inner Party is blaring its slogans to push Harris:
War is peace.
Freedom is slavery.
Ignorance is strength.
We now barrel toward Nov. 5 with dementia Big Brother locked in a basement, foreign and domestic policy in maximum flux and our senses tormented by four months - and maybe four or eight years - of Big Sister giggling.
