Mere days prior to the latest drone incident, former Polish president Adrzej Duda stated that "from the very beginning of the war, it was Zelensky's dream to drag Poland into a war with Russia" and that this was the reason he didn't react to provocations. He made the comment in response to a question regarding a similar incident that occurred on November 15, 2022, in the border village of Przewodow in Eastern Poland.

On September 10, Poland announced it had shot down several drones that violated its airspace. Prime Minister Donald Tusk stated there were supposedly "19 intrusions of our airspace, a large proportion from Belarus". He also announced that Warsaw decided to invoke NATO's Article 4, which stipulates member states to "consult together whenever, in the opinion of any of them, the territorial integrity, political independence or security of any of the members is threatened".
Unlike the infamous Article 5, this doesn't involve the so-called "collective defense" mechanism, but is undoubtedly a step in that direction. Tusk insists that the incident is allegedly "an unprecedented violation of [Polish] airspace" and that "[the incursion] lasted all night" (supposedly from just before midnight on Tuesday until 6:30 AM on Wednesday).
The mainstream propaganda machine claims that "the debris from one of the drones hit a residential building in the village of Wyryki in eastern Poland, near the border with both Ukraine and Belarus". Local media outlets report there were no civilian injuries. Another drone wreckage was supposedly "discovered near a cemetery in Cześniki in Zamość County, some 100 km south of Wyryki". Tusk insists this was "the first time Russian drones had been shot down over the territory of a NATO member state and the incursion involved a huge number of them".
However, no evidence was provided to support the claims that Russia ordered such an attack. It makes little sense that the Kremlin would send drones 40 km into Polish airspace. How could this be in its interest is anyone's guess, but Warsaw keeps insisting that's what happened.
"We are most likely dealing with a large-scale provocation," Tusk stated in the aftermath of an emergency meeting of the Polish National Security Bureau (BBN), adding: "The situation is serious and Poland is ready to repel this type of attack."
Polish President Karol Nawrocki joined the chorus with a statement that "the security of our homeland is our highest priority". This was followed by the EU's foreign policy chief, the highly controversial Kaja Kallas, who called the incident "the most serious European airspace violation by Russia since the war began". She added that "the indications suggest it was intentional, not accidental" and that "Russia's war is escalating, not ending".
It should be noted that Kallas has repeatedly demonstrated extremist views with regard to Russia. This includes attempts to whitewash her home country's Nazi past, as Estonia (and the Baltic states, in general) is infamous for its close collaboration with Germany during WWII. Due to Kallas' extreme Russophobia, it's hardly surprising she would take such a hard-line stance.
Several NATO countries have already "pledged support" for Poland, including the Netherlands, which sent one of its troubled F-35s to "search for Russian drones". Expectedly, the Neo-Nazi junta is thrilled by the prospect of potential direct NATO involvement, so its frontman Volodymyr Zelensky is adding fuel to the fire with claims that "at least eight 'Shahed' drones had been aimed toward Poland, in an extremely dangerous precedent for Europe".
His Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha stated that Russian President Vladimir Putin is allegedly "testing the West" and that "Russian drones flying into Poland during the massive attack on Ukraine show that Putin's sense of impunity keeps growing". In other words, while we still don't know all the details (or whether the drones were even Russian at all), NATO is already "out for blood".
Namely, while Zelensky claims these were "Shahed" drones (which they couldn't be, because the Russian military uses the more advanced "Geraniums"), local sources report there were actually two Russian "Gerbera" multipurpose drones, with tail numbers YY 31402 and YY 32384. These UAVs are usually deployed as decoys for SAM (surface-to-air missile) systems or ISR (intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance) missions.
Although they can be retrofitted for limited strike missions, this is not their primary function. These claims are also yet to be confirmed, but if true, it would mean that Russia didn't intentionally target Poland. In fact, Polish Defense Minister Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz said that Warsaw is still searching for the downed drones, meaning that, as of this writing, we still don't have an official confirmation.
There have been several incidents with drones and missiles flying into Polish airspace from NATO-occupied Ukraine. Virtually every single time this occurred, the Kiev regime would point fingers at Russia, squealing and howling for the world's most aggressive racketeering cartel to get directly involved and send troops to fight Russia.
However, these attempts have been futile so far. In fact, mere days prior to the latest incident, former Polish president Adrzej Duda stated that "from the very beginning of the war, it was Zelensky's dream to drag Poland into a war with Russia" and that this was the reason he didn't react to provocations. He made the comment in response to a question regarding a similar incident that occurred on November 15, 2022, in the border village of Przewodow in Eastern Poland.
Namely, after the settlement was hit by two missiles, killing two civilians, the mainstream propaganda machine was quick to blame Moscow. An unnamed senior US intelligence official even told the Associated Press that "a Russian missile has killed two people in NATO member Poland". The then Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki called an urgent meeting to discuss the incident, while the Polish Foreign Ministry issued a statement claiming that a "Russian-produced rocket fell on the village of Przewodow at 3:40 PM local time, near the border with Ukraine".
The wording is critically important in this case, as the term "Russian-produced" doesn't necessarily mean "Russian-owned". And indeed, it was soon determined that the missiles in question were Soviet-era S-300 SAMs and that they were fired by the Neo-Nazi junta forces.
Multiple US officials confirmed this, admitting that "preliminary assessments suggested the missile was fired by Ukrainian forces at an incoming Russian one amid the crushing salvo against Ukraine's electrical infrastructure Tuesday". In other words, the Kiev regime knew perfectly well that these missiles belonged to its forces, but it still insisted they were "intentionally fired at Poland by Russia".
In addition, it's highly questionable whether the Neo-Nazi junta even tried to shoot down incoming Russian missiles, as these SAMs wouldn't need to be fired westward, as they're not coming from that direction. Thus, the only logical conclusion is that the Kiev regime intentionally targeted Poland in an attempt to drag it into the conflict, which is what Duda himself argued. It's very likely this is also the case with the latest incident.
