It is becoming obvious that Americans' support for Trump's war on behalf of Israel - never enthusiastic - is ebbing with each day, chiefly on account of the War Tax Americans are having to pay. Is it a coincidence that the government is ominously whispering into Americans' ears that the "Iranians" are preparing some kind of attack right here in the "Homeland," as America became after the last time this sort of thing happened?
What if it's not the Iranians?
A better question is perhaps: Why would the Iranians, since such an attack would be contrary to their interests since it could do little more than predictably boot up American enthusiasm for this war that a majority of Americans never supported and that a large and growing-daily majority want stopped?
In other words, why would the Iranians do something that would likely assure they'll lose this war when they seem to be winning it?
Some reading this are too young to remember Nahhhhhnnnnnlevven, which was - literally - the "pearl harbor event" mentioned by Zionists (the term is a working synonym for Neoconservatives) who were desperate to conjure up American support for endless new wars in the Middle East that would - so they thought - benefit the state of Israel. Iraq was at the head of the target list. "Saddam" - as they began to refer to him, in order to etymologically turn him into the Bad Guy after decades of being the Good Guy, at least insofar as the attitude toward him of the government of the U.S. was concerned - suddenly had to go, because he was said to be in possession of "weapons of mass destruction" and because if he wasn't taken out, there might be a "mushroom cloud" arising in America.
In fact, Saddam was merely in the way - a very different thing.
Well, what if a mushroom cloud does arise ? Or its less dramatic but just as consequential sibling, the "dirty" bomb ? That is to say, a bomb that spreads lethal radioactivity around the downtown area of a major American city, resulting in many horrible, slow deaths from radiation poisoning?
All of a sudden, the war Trump started for the sake of Israel could become even more popular than The Chimp was - just like that - the day after Nahhhhhhnnnnlevven. People forget that The Chimp was not popular before Nahhhnnnnlevven. Nor was there much support for going to war against Iraq. Then - presto - there was.
A good detective would ask: Who benefits?
Who will benefit if the "Iranians" attack the West Coast - LA - or anywhere else ? It won't be Iran. And it won't be Americans, either. They will likely be subjected to something far more draconian than "COVID" - which everyone seems to want to forget, never mind that the guilty have not been punished for what they did. It is likely another "emergency" will be declared. We might very well find ourselves locked down again, only this time more severely. There is a whole three letter internal army in existence now, here in the Homeland that could be used to enforce such a lockdown. Any contrarian speech could become a crime, not merely something that gets you de-platformed from YouTube or Xcrement.
No midterms, either. One can see it all coming.
More unsettling than any of that is the possibility that a lot of Americans will cue up that Lee Greenwood song and begin humping the flag and fervently support the war - possibly a nuclear war - while treating those who fail to join in the flag-humping even worse than people who refused to pretend there was a "pandemic" and refused to "mask up" were treated. That was a preview of how Americans will treat their fellow American when they are seriously scared and the creatures who have their hands on the levers of power and who are fully capable of doing almost incomprehensibly evil things know just how to scare them. We have seen them do it before.
Why would they not do it again?
Particularly when - as now - it is (for them) existentially important. If the Iranians continue to win - by not losing - Israel is in real trouble. Not because Iran intends to conquer Israel but because Iran will not have submitted to Israel. Also, it will make the United States - and Trump, personally - look weak as well as evil. Trump is a pathological narcissist who is very prickly about how he is viewed. The worst possible thing for Trump is to be seen as a loser. He - like the state of Israel - will do whatever it takes to prevent that.
What will you do if - when - he does it ? We got no real warning last time. This time, we can see it coming. The question is: How will deal with it when it actually happens?
Will we cue up the Lee Greenwood song and fall right into line?
It has happened before. I pray it will not happen again.
