 Les forces d'occupation refusent une trêve proposée par la résistance palestinienne

En nos qualités de spécialistes en droit international et en droit pénal, de défenseurs des droits de l'homme, d'experts juridiques et aussi en tant que personnes qui croient fermement à la primauté du droit et à la nécessité de son respect en temps de paix et a fortiori en temps de guerre, nous nous sentons le devoir intellectuel et moral de dénoncer les graves violations, ainsi que la mystification et le mépris des principes élémentaires du droit des conflits armés et des droits humains fondamentaux de la population palestinienne dans son ensemble commises au cours de l'actuelle offensive israélienne dans la bande de Gaza. Nous condamnons également les tirs de roquette depuis la bande de Gaza, car toute attaque indiscriminée contre des civils, quelle que soit l'identité des auteurs, est non seulement illégale au regard du droit international, mais aussi moralement intolérable. Cependant, comme le faisait implicitement remarquer le Conseil des droits de l'homme de l'ONU dans sa Résolution du 23 juillet 2014, les deux parties au conflit ne peuvent pas être considérées sur un pied d'égalité et l'ampleur de leurs actions respectives fait apparaître, une fois de plus, un rapport totalement disproportionné.
