Why America's Two-Party System Will Never Threaten the True Political Elites

Whenever a new US president is sworn in, media pundits and court historians gush about the supposed "peaceful transfer of power" that is taking place. This has become a key tenet of the mythology and ideology surrounding democracy-that governing elites willfully abandon their control over the machinery of the state in response to election outcomes.
Indeed, this narrative about democracy is absolutely foundational to the perceived legitimacy of democracy.
Have Fiat Money, Will Tyrannize
By George F. Smith

Gary North's article focuses mostly on Woodrow Wilson's influence on the inaugural addresses of Eisenhower and Kennedy and their meaning in the world of 2008. As he observed, we have had "one long war since 1917," with Fed fiat money playing an indispensable supporting role.
Everything the government does costs money, and it produces nothing with which to acquire it.

Well, it could be worse, ladies and gentlemen. You could be living in Spain.
Here are excerpts from what their prime minister had to say the other day:
Starting next week, my government will implement the following actions: First, we will change the law in Spain to hold platform executives legally accountable for many infringements taking place on their sites.
Who knows what these "infringements" are, or what this even means.

It's suppositionally possible that the Financial Times' report becomes reality, but to be absolutely clear, this is pure guesswork and it's much more likely that Russia won't agree to that.
The US signaled its support for NATO troops in Ukraine last month after Trump's Special Envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner praised the principle of security guarantees for the first time right after France and the UK committed to deploying troops there in the event of a ceasefire.

I suggest you say some extra prayers - that we don't blow up the world.
Today, Feb. 5, the New Start Treaty on arms control expired. For the first time since 1972, we have no nuclear arms control treaties with the Soviets - excuse me, the Russians. President Putin suggested tacitly extending New Start for another year to allow negotiators to craft a new treaty.

What a day! ! Lots of negotiation and non-negotiation action on the Iranian front. In the span of two hours, starting at 1 pm and ending around 3 pm eastern time, the world was whipped sawed with news that the bilateral negotiations between Iran and the US was cancelled - that was the 1 pm news - and then, at 3 pm, the talks were back on. The initial reports that the meeting in Oman would not take place cited Iran's reaction to a US demand that Iranian ballistic missiles and Iran's support for groups like Hamas and Hezbollah must be on the agenda or there would be no negotiations.

What constitutes national security and how is it best achieved ? Does massive military spending really make a country more secure, and what perils to democracy and liberty are posed by vast military establishments ? Questions like those are rarely addressed in honest ways these days in America. Instead, the Trump administration favors preparations for war and more war, fueled by potentially enormous increases in military spending that are dishonestly framed as "recapitalizations" of America's security and safety.
All Is Well or Is It ?

My government overlords and their legacy media propaganda outlets tell me the economy is booming because GDP is between 4% and 5%, the stock market is near all-time highs, inflation is declining, unemployment is low, and AI is going to transform our world for the better. According to their narrative, All is Well. Meanwhile, all hell is breaking loose in every facet of our everyday lives.
Lincoln's Union Army Was More Evil Than the Israeli Defense Force

Recently someone sent me a copy of Walter Brian Cisco's book, War Crimes Against Southern Civilians. Until I began reading this book, I had regarded Israel's "defense force" as the ultimate in barbarism. The Israelis justify shooting mothers and babies in the head on the grounds that all Palestinians are terrorists, and that the babies will grow up to be terrorists and that the mothers will have more babies that will grow up to be terrorists, and that is better to kill the mothers and the babies before this happens.

London, June 18, 1982. A postal clerk is walking to work across Blackfriars Bridge. He looks over the edge and sees a man hanging from the scaffolding. The man is wearing an expensive gray suit, but his pockets are weighed down with bricks and nearly $15,000 in cash.
The man was Roberto Calvi, chairman of Banco Ambrosiano. The press called him "God's Banker."
