NBC News, with a group of other news organizations, conducted a nationwide exit poll, that reveals a profound shift in public sentiment in the United States.
More than two-thirds of U.S. voters (i.e., more than 66%):
- consider themselves to be liberal democrats and not MAGA (Make American Great Again) ;
- identify as gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgender:
- consider the local midterm elections to be an opportunity to express their support for or opposition to Donald Trump;
- are pro-socialism and critical of capitalism;
- strongly disapprove of the way Donald Trump is exercising his presidency:
- consider that Donald Trump is not a strong leader, that he does not have the ability to be a good president, that he is more concerned with defending his personal interests than those of his voters;
- consider that the Trump administration's policies have worsened the economic situation and worsened people's problems;
- have a favorable opinion of the Democratic Party and an unfavorable opinion of the Republican Party;
- consider that the Democratic Party is better able than the Republican Party to manage the economy, foreign policy, health, immigration, the fight against corruption, the policy towards transsexuals, the arrival of artificial intelligence and the multiplication of data centers;
- disapprove of the way Congress, the Supreme Court, and immigration police are doing their jobs;
- disapprove of the war against Iran; the loss of U.S. initiative on the international stage, and the importance of U.S. support for Israel;
- consider that the political system favors the richest, but that Americans in general are poor;
- are very concerned about the cost of food, healthcare, gas and water;
- consider that the law should allow abortion;
- are confident in the electoral system of the United States, but not overconfident in the people who will be elected.
