Il semble y avoir un véritable enchevêtrement au sein de l'ordre géopolitique actuel.
Les États-Unis sont le principal soutien et protecteur d'Israël. Washington sait que son soutien à Israël a un coût politique, économique et stratégique très élevé et pourrait finir par s'avérer un fardeau même pour les États-Unis eux-mêmes.
Pourtant, malgré ces coûts, ils continuent de soutenir fermement Israël et restent réticents à abandonner leur principal allié au Moyen-Orient.
