In the classical grammar of diplomacy, a ceasefire represents the first step toward peace; yet, in the Euro-Atlantic strategic debate on the Russian-Ukrainian conflict, this premise is turned on its head.

The report published by Chatham House on May 28, 2026, significantly titled How a Russia-Ukraine Ceasefire Could Imperil Ukrainian and European Security, articulates with remarkable candor a counterintuitive thesis: a hasty or poorly defined truce could offer Russian forces the opportunity to reorganize and rearm, allowing the Kremlin to continue exerting pressure through cyberattacks, sabotage, and electoral interference.

I just saw an article in The Conversation titled "Your AI habit is wasting precious resources. Here's how to use it responsibly," and it pisses me off because you can already see where this is going. Neoliberalism is already doing that thing where they shift all the blame for the environmental consequences of ecocidal capitalism to the individual consumer, like how they told everyone to ride bikes and recycle instead of regulating the corporations who are actually destroying our biosphere.

Keir Starmer's resignation comes as absolutely no surprise. The shocking part is not that he quit, but that it took this long. The British people delivered one of the largest electoral victories in modern history to Labour in 2024, only to discover that changing the party did nothing to change the direction of government. The economy remained stagnant, the cost of living crisis continued, migration remained out of control, taxes rose, public services deteriorated, and confidence collapsed.

The Final Synodal Report Group 9 was not only shocking in its opposition to settled Church teaching, but for disparaging the Church's apostolate that serves the same-sex attracted.
